If your phone is busy when a caller calls, the Call Forward Busy feature automatically forwards the caller to another number. You can turn the feature on or off, or change the forwarding number anytime.
Note: Cox Voice Mail automatically includes this service. However, Cox Voice Mail customers have only limited functionality for Call Forwarding Busy. If you subscribe to Cox Voice Mail, you cannot forward calls using this feature to destinations other than the pre-programmed Voice Mail number.
Turning On the Call Forwarding Busy Service
- Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
- Dial * 90.
- Listen for the dial tone.
- Dial the number to where you want your calls forwarded. Enter the number exactly as if you are calling directly, such as 7-digit, 10-digit, or 1 plus the area code.
Result: When the phone is answered, your Call Forwarding Busy is in effect.
- Hang up to complete activation.
If the Forward To line is busy or there is no answer, do the following:
- Hang up.
- Within two minutes, repeat steps 1-4 above.
Result: You will hear a confirmation tone to let you know your Call Forwarding feature is now working.
Turning Off the Call Forwarding Busy Service
- Dial * 91.
- Listen for the confirmation tone, and then hang up the handset.
Result: Your Call Forwarding Busy is now off.
- Hang up to complete the call.
Changing the Forward To Number
- Turn off Call Forwarding Busy Service.
- Listen for the confirmation tone, and then hang up the handset.
Result: Call Forwarding is now turned off.
- Turn on Call Forwarding by dialing * 90.
- Enter the new Forward To number.
